woyww - a public display of affection
I declared sometime last week, to Mrs D, that Him and Me don't 'do', the Valentine thing. Apparently I was wrong - He Does.....
Which is odd.. because,
If pushed we claim we have no real bond, being umarried and not at all given to public displays of private matters.

In truth we are deeply connected and suffer if seperated for more than a weekend,
twice in my life with him he has publically displayed his affection in this way, and the infrequency means when he does this for me it means so much and brings a tear to my eye. I DO feel loved...
Yesterday at work, a man appeared with (and I mean it) the MOST gorgeous bouquet I have seen since the last time he did it (12 years ago)

I had frequent vistors yesterday - women to bury there heads in the blooms and scent and murmer - you are sooo lucky, to which I responded -no, i am sooo loved, and men who admitted they should do something grand and gesture like for their very own loved one as they could see the indelible smile I was wearing ear to ear all day.
So on my desk today is my public display of affection, in my nostrils the scent and in my heart warm fuzziness and on my face that indelible smile ( those last twwo shall outlast the bouquet by years)
the salutation inside the card?
well that is still private...

see you all later....

It means so much more when it is unexpected and not taken for granted.
That is just so lovely Donna. I'm smiling too now.
Hugs,
A x
Lovely bouquet Donna and fabulous reading. I had a smile the whole way through your blog. yesterday, whilst shopping late afternoon, I saw at least two men rush into the supermarket and grab flowers. Saw others walking round with them too. And all had grey hair! Ah romance is still around.

Aaaaw...isn't he the most precious thing EVER!!! You see, when we share this kind of total love we don't need constant reassurances, but as you say, a public display like this(every now and then) last's us for years :D XXX
I kept getting an error message when I tried to load the comment. Now I have SPAMMED you!! Just me, no Bleubeard.
ohoo love the flowers, I can smell them...in my mind...not for real, that might be considered hiding, in a cupboard and stalking, I must admit to a tiny tear too! Have a very Crafty Week,
Happy WOyWw

Oh, it's GORGEOUS!!! YAY for the two of you! It's funny...we always say we don't do Valentine's day, too. This year I decided to randomly send him two dozen roses to have delivered to his classroom at school and I came home to a new pair of shoes and a matching handbag (I'm not a flowers kind of girl)!!! I felt loved, too.
LOL! They are lovely! We don't do the whole Valentines thing either, so if it wasn't for being a crafter I wouldn't have had a clue it was Valentines day yesterday LOL! Bet you were surprised! Kimx (Sardine girl! Hope the spam is doing well!)
Don't you just love surprises.....these are stunning.....hope they last ages so that you can remember how special Valentines day was.

Absolutely gorgeous ...thanks for letting us see them ...bet he is in your good books forever ...well for a few weeks any way. xx
Oh! Surprise presents are always the best. Such a beautiful bouquet!
We're the same in several respects... including the not married and don't need a paper to prove anything.... and isn't it great when something is so special that it makes you cry? ... love it...
Ok...you win for the most touching post of the week.
Those roses (and the story behind them) are so lovely!
Craig and I are the same, we don't really DO valentines. Though he sometimes surprises me - last year was a secret picnic in my now defunct stu-studio. Those surprise surprises are the best aren't they. The valentines this year was something special but I can't share just yet ;)
You are indeed a loved lady! They are beautiful, and he is a lucky man to have an appreciative partner like you.
Equally, I'm intrigued by the gothic shaped box on your desk.... spill the beans lady!
